ALL ABOUT STORY JARS

What is a Story Jar?

It's a plastic jar that has been transformed into a Story Jar by magical wizardry or with paper or cloth and glue.

Why use a story jar?

  • to spark children's curiosity about ANY book or story you are about to share.
  • to engage children's senses in ANY book or story before you even turn the first page.
  • to help children relate to and learn from ANY book or story
  • to make the SAME OLD STORIES new and exciting again

What do I put in a Story Jar?

Treasures gathered from your attic, dungeon or enchanted forest, or that you have conjured from thin air OR

  • regular household items
  • nature stuff that you've found in your yard or while walking the dog
  • items you have conjured from paper, glue and other craft materials
  • if your budget allows and/or you are lazy, you can include things you bought at the Dollar General, the Dollar Tree, the Family Dollar or if you absolutely must, at Walmart

Where can I get a Story Jar?

  • Make one from the free and easy instructions we provide - CLICK HERE
  • Buy one of our weird/quirky, handmade, one of a kind jars - CLICK HERE
  • Buy one of those BIG jars of cheeseballs or pretzels, eat all the cheeseballs or pretzels, wash out the jar and use it as is or put some stickers on it.  Less mysterious, but more delicious and a great option for those who lack ambition and/or money and/or time.
